Seating Design:

The ongoing journey for comfort and style
Seating design represents the most intimate form of furniture design, as it is tasked with cradling the human form. -David Winson

Welcome to the Seating Lookbook.

This webpage showcases the expertise of David Winston's design studio and his exceptional team at Design Work Creative as it relates to seating. With extensive experinece in plastic molding, mechanical engineering, and various other technologies, DWCR is well-equipped to be effective design partners across diverse disciplines and industries, ready to assist with your next project.

Automotive Seating:

Working with Mercedes-Benz for brand alignment, we designed and engineered several generations of automotive seating for the commercial passenger Van Industry. The orchestration of complex relationships between plastic moldmaking, safety standards, mechanical actuators, metal structure and upholstery are woven into a multi-disciplinary design process.

Mold-Making Technology

Our experience with a broad range of plastic parts produciton include, injection molding, roto-molding, cnc machining process, 3d printing, extrusion process and more. Example below features our molding process for automotive seat parts.

3D Printed Prototype: ultra-high resolution print.

This example of a 3D printed part is for an Aviation modual seatback that doubles as a fuel-tank, with a 4.3 gallon capacity auxiliary tank. The 4K printing ultra-high resolution is printed with LCD laser technology.

SPINE COUCH

SPINE COUCH PROTOTYPE: Original furniture designed and fabricated for Project Glogal. The first working prototype was featured at the Mandalay Bay hotel and Resort Casino in Las Vegas in 2016.

Finger Couch

A minimal, modular auxilry seating line for Scale 1:1, consiting of an ottoman, the two finger, 3 finger, and 4 finger couch, with removable seatbacks and armrests.

SideKick, mobile work pedestals.

Back to work solutions for a remote workforce not commited to full-time onsite attendance. Taking your workstation with you as you navigate the new work landscape.
